Presidents Report 2010
20/10/2010 2:24:30 PM

For the 2010 season it was great to see the return of past players and lots of new faces. We were able to enter 15 teams into the competition, of these teams 6 were junior and 9 were senior.

We had 2 grades representing our club on Grand Final Day, this was Under 11 and Under 13 Division 1. Although they did not bring home the shield they all should be very proud of themselves. Each girl gave 100% and did everything their coaches asked them to do. I know that the Roopena club and supporters were, and still are, very proud of these teams.

We entered 2 carnivals this year. the first one was in Port Lincoln. We registered in Under 11, Under 13 & Under 15. The majority of players and officials travelled by bus. This carnival gave all players the chance to bond as teams and a very different netball experience. It was well worth it.

The second one was Cowell 13 and under Carnival. We took one team and travelled by car. Congratulations to these girls as they won a very hard fought Division 2 Grand Final. The confidence they gained at this carnival definitely showed on the netball courts here for the rest of the season.

The social events and fundraising for the year was very successful. The kids had a blast at the disco and the movie night. I would like to thank everyone who helped organise and work at all events and fundraisers.

To all coaches, umpires, scorers and timekeepers I say Thank-You. Your time and committmemnt to this club is very much appreciated.

A huge congratulations to Cathy McKenzie and Chloe Boundey for their senior and junior club person award. This award is not something that can be won, it is an award that is earnt. These girls definitely earned this award and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for everything they have given to and done for our club this year.

To finish up, I would like to wish the new committee all the best for the 2011 season.

Cheers
Tash Evans
2010 Roopena Netball President
